Ten self-contained units; 2 built into a 1950s Bristol Freighter plane, a restored railway carriage, 5 in the hand-built ship and two underground hobbit homes, spread across ten rolling acres of Waikato farmland.

The rooms

Ten units, no two the same.

All units are fully self-contained, with bedding, towels and parking included. Rates are per night for two guests in New Zealand Dollars; each additional person, including infants and cots, is $25 per night. Please note the units are built in part from recycled and natural materials and carry a slight lingering scent of their industrial past.

A steam-era railway carriage parked among the rolling acres, with its own deck looking out over the farm. Panelled timber walls, a pressed-tin ceiling and a full kitchen down one end. Sleeps up to five.

The Plane - Cockpit Unit

Sleep behind the original instrument panel of a 1950s Bristol Freighter. The cockpit has no floor space beyond the bed and pilot seats and a very low ceiling, reached by a steep ladder and an opening, so it suits children over 8 and adults happy with a climb. Sleeps up to four.

How we work together.

We hold units at Woodlyn Park for guests heading to the Waitomo Caves, and we time arrivals around cave tours, black water rafting and the drive up from Rotorua or down from Auckland.
